Specially focused on Human and Social Sciences, but open to other fields of knowledge, it will have a specific theme in each edition. These meetings, which aim to tear bridges between the islands and the continents, favoring internationalization, will host the facilities of the University of the Azores (Campus of Ponta Delgada, island of S. Miguel).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The 1st edition, which will run from the 27th to the 30th of September, 2021, has as its theme Leisure, Travel and Tourism, quite wide-ranging issues that assume enormous relevance from the distant past to the present day, since the forms of socialization and sociability have always been part of everyday life habits. In turn, travel, motivated by multiple imperatives, ended up awakening to tourist tours that, since the 18th and 19th centuries, enchanted social elites, eventually extending to mass tourism. There were countless travelers who crossed the Atlantic, first, by sea, then by air, making the connection between the various continents and the islands.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Separated by different thematic panels, scholars and specialists in these matters will analyze and debate the role of leisure and the habit of travel in daily life, at different times, as well as its contribution to the increase in tourism, which today takes on a global dimension.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The Atlantic Conference: History, Culture and Heritage is a multidisciplinary scientific meeting, organized by CHAM A\u00e7ores, with the objective of maintaining a biannual periodicity.
